Dogs

You know dogs really do not care if you are rich or poor. If you have designers clothes or used clothes. Straight, Gay, or in some case non-sexual. They love unconditional, no matter what. They except you for who you are and what you are. never wanting to change you or make it you into something they want. Again they love you no matter what. How many of use can say that about others. My dog has less than 9 months to live. She is on 3 different kinds of medication at this time. She has CHF (Congested Heart Failure) Heart Mummer, also she has a cancer on the side of her mouth. Next Monday she has to have surgery on the mouth; so she can eat better. It may kill her and it may not. She is about 16 yrs of age according to the Vet. She love me for me. We go for a walk twice a day. If I work at the Hopst we go early in the morning about 04:30AM and if I don't work. we go about 07:00Am then about 20:00 (8:00PM) at night. I love her deeply. She is normally right beside me in what ever I am doing. She is my best friend; hopefully I am her's, as well.

  1. She's a beauty, Ray! Really sorry to hear about her medical problems. We had a golden retriever who lived till just after his 12th birthday. He died of cancer. We had had him since he was 8 weeks old. Was a very rough time when he went... We now have two doges (5 and 12 years old) from the SPCA. Dogs dcomplete our lives. I'm holding you and your pooch in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Ray, please know I'm feeling for you and wishing you both all the best.

My dogs are indeed my very best friends and they keep me going through thick and thin. They are very much people to me, except I'd rather spend time with Nikko and Meghan than most people.

Dogs when treated right are more honest and devoted than any human can ever be. We are truly blessed by these incredible four-legged friends and I know the pain of reaching this point in the life of a faithful friend is terribly difficult. I've been there many times and all we can do is offer them as much love as they give us, and comfort them as much as we can.

I'm thinking of you and your baby and I'm sure you ARE her best friend! Give her a big hug from me, and while you're at it give yourself a big hug from me too!

  6. Thinking of you fondly and my wishes and prayers are with you both. My house isn't a home with out a dog. I had heart surgery last year and my dog paced this house till I got home...and hasn't left my side since. While I was reecuperating he was always nearby and reluctantly went for walks with friends when he had to. A dog's love is special. We walk a couple of hours a day now. Sending hugs to you both.

  7. Oh Ray...It's that devotion & unconditional affection that makes us fall in love with our pets. They somehow solidify our quest for the love & trust that it so incredibly difficult to find in people. I have made this journey before, and will make it again, and I feel your suffering. She needs your love now more than ever...Joe

  9. HBO is now playing "Marley and Me." It took me a while to get up the nerve to watch it because I knew how it ends. For anyone who has had to deal with putting a pet down they know the feeling of what it's like to have your heart torn out from you.
What is her name Ray? My thoughts and prayers are with you and she Ray. All the best of luck Buddy!
    Hugs,
    Stan

  10. Oh, Beloved most merciful Lord, we thank you for the time together
with our beloved pet. We ask that her crossing will be peaceful
and painless. We ask that you impart to our pet how much we love
her. We ask that they cross over Rainbow Bridge with ease,
joy and delight, looking back and seeing us standing there with
shining hearts of love that radiates so great that it reaches them in
Heaven. We ask also for your blessings for our own hearts as we
prepare to let go and give our pet back to you, dear Lord. Bless our
pet's last days that as this life comes to a close, our last days and
hours together are gentle, peaceful and filled with love. Let the
pools of our tears reflect the light of your love. Dear Jesus, meet
our pet at Rainbow Bridge and walk them gently to the beautiful
fields of flowers, where all pets romp and play.

We ask this blessing, dear Lord, in our sincere love and gratitude.
    Amen.

  11. All dogs go to heaven...So sorry to hear of her sickness. I know too well the sadness you feel, having had to make the painful decision myself of ending the pain of one of my beloved friends. Animals are truly the innocents in this world, giving freely of their love and their lives. I hold you and your friend in my prayers, and hope when the time comes you will find comfort in knowing that you were truly her friend.

  14. Awww. Ray. I know the pain, but the upside I suppose, is you know that you have more time together. I know you will enjoy it and make the most of it.

I had to put down 2 dogs within a year. Both 15, that didn't show signs of stopping. Both out of the blue. You can and will adjust when it eventually comes.

Don't wait too long before getting another. Maybe a rescue puppy? I know it's too soon to think about it, but don't be long without one, please.

She's a beautiful girl, Ray. She knows that you love her, and I'm quite sure that she loves you to the depths of her heart.

  15. She's a beautiful girl Ray, I hope all went well with the surgery and that you're both feeling better.

I hope there's some small comfort in knowing what time you have remaining. We didn't see it coming when we lost Kirby and a little bit of me went with him.

On the bright side, then we found Alex. I'm positive Kirb sent him to us.

  16. Ray, I came across your blog tonight for the first time for the very different reasons then I left it. Sure, the guys are hot...but your girl reigns over them all. She stopped me dead in my tracks with her beauty and warmth. I look at her close-up, and I just want to kiss her on the forehead then hug her. There're some verses from one of Shakespeare's plays..."Who Is Sylvia?" Look it up sometime when you have a moment -- your girl fits that bill. I envy the life you've had with her, because I miss my own boys...if only our most devoted friends can live the long lives we do, accompanying us from the beginning to the end...this world just might have been a better place.
