Well I have had a small melt down. JuJu was nto eating, and I was trying to force food down her; so I can give her the meds. I was ready to pack it up and leave and never come back. I have found one thing she will eat. Chicken, No not you Pick or you either RAD. She will eat it and I can put her meds in there and she eats. My heart has perkup allot. Today she ate half a chicken. Now I get to go back to the store and get mroe and cook them for the weekend. I do not season it or anything else; just plain. I am feeling allaot better about everything. Again thankyou everyone for the wonderful thoughts and energy/ prayers you are doing for her.
Hugs
Ray
I am glad you have found that JuJu will eat chicken... and understand the worry, frustration, and heartache you feel when trying to feed a dog or cat who needs to/has to eat. Here, we just lost a cat with kidney failure, and a dog with congestive heart failure, and cancer within the last month, so I am right there with you.
ReplyDeleteGlad to here it Ray! I wishing the best for you both!
ReplyDeleteRay damn well glad she is eatting at least chicken. my continued good thoughts are with you two!
ReplyDeleteAs far as Pick being a chicken i think he is more along the lines of a capon :)
sounds like she is improving, she is just in pain and miserable, try browned hamburger, drained and rinsed with some rice. my dogs used to love that when sick or recovering for some minor surgery.
ReplyDelete(minor in that is what mine went thru) Juju had some big time work done.
All dogs love chicken. Cats too. I'm continuing to send healing thoughts your way Ray. Bless you both!
ReplyDeletePlease to hear that JuJu is eating at last and that you are feeling better. I would think that her mouth is sore after the surgery and she needs soft food for a while.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that JuJu is feeling better...love from Australia...love your blog. best wishes cheers. Raph
ReplyDeleteGlad she;s doing better...just a thought, one of my cats loves chicken and turkey gravy (the stuff in a glass jar). Take care, Steve
ReplyDeleteSometimes you can shove a pill into a 1" cube of cheese and get them to swallow it. Another one I use often is to slather the pill in a spoonful of peanut butter and just put your open palm - w/ the p/b and the pill - under her nose til she gets a whiff.
ReplyDeleteFeeling like you wanna pack it in is VERY normal, Ray. Means you need to be kind to yourself and go take a nap. Make sure JuJu is as comfy as possible, then go jump into bed for a bit.
Keep talkin' to us Man. I love it.
Howard

Ray, Hoping and praying for you and Juju. As others said, keep talking about it and get rest when you can. Also for pill meds, Pill Pockets can work.
ReplyDeleteSending good vibes over the Big Pond, hope you and Juju feel better.
ReplyDeleteHang in there, JuJu and Ray!
