Dogably Pawfect Saturday

I know these pictures are of homeless puppies and their owners. But I bet they get more love than the normal dogs. I had a neighbor in my neighborhood. ever time someone called the cops they would bring the dog inside. That dog was in weather colder than it was supposed to be.They really never paid attention to the dog. The family gave the dog up. That was a very happy day for me.

I love my dog, Sadie Mae

Wonderful post. Some of these guys are homeless but lucky to have a loyal companion. I hope they are able to find enough food for themselves and their dogs.

Dogs are best friends it doesnt matter if you have money or you have nothing they love unconditionally as long as they are loved back.

Whenever I see a dog with a homeless person, I worry about them.

The sad thing is the a homeless with a dog is more harshly judged because people say that they shouldn't have a dog if they cannot make a living on their own. This is so sad. The dog is maybe the only friend they have in the world, a friend who loves them unconditionally.

In Montreal, once or twice a year, the students at the vet school go on the streets and provide free care for the dogs of the homeless. They examine the dogs, give them medication if they need, etc...

Great post Ray!

If only the PEOPLE of the world had the same unconditional love that pets give.

A few years ago, I stayed at a bed-and-breakfast in downtown Albuquerque. As I was packing up the car to go, I noticed a homeless man and his dog huddled in the entrance to a building across the street. I didn't know whether to go over to the guy to offer him some money or to just leave him alone (which is what I did). The whole situation made me feel so sad for the dog and its owner. Sadie Mae is very lucky.

it's amazing how many homeless have dogs. I guess it's going back to the hunter-gathering society, we need dogs for alarms in the wild of the forest or the cities.

Ray, you're breaking my heart with these. It's hard enough for me to witness the hardship of our human brothers and sisters who are homeless, but the plight of the homeless, unwanted, abandoned and abused animals tears at me. I'm such a sucker for anything four-legged and furry (which explains a few of my ex's... oh, gawds!). I've become known in my neighborhood as "the crazy cat lady" because I put food out for the neighborhood strays (and what they don't eat the racoons do). I'm also known for jumping on neighbors who don't take proper care of their animals. I would go insane if I didn't have my cats, Tiggami and Cinmoui, or my muttlypooch Tinkabelly.
