I have been thinking about this all day yesterday and today . Yesterday I went to go see my Daddy and Mother. Yes I still call him Daddy. When I was young he came to every Football event I was at. He came to my Volin performances. and He also help me undestand so many things. I can change a electric outlet, phone outlet (My Daddy work for Ma-Bell back in the day) Make a fence, and allot of other stuff as well. My Parents have excepted me being gay and Loved my ex- Jon. I was very fonturnate to have a Father like this. Most kids would killed to have a Father who was there so much. Now that I am older. I try to see them as much as I can, but it is not easy..Work and everything around the house I must do. Back to the story again. Yesterady I went to my parents house to get a chair for my sister to bring back to Fort Worth. My Dad got a lift chair so he can sit and lower himself to a sitting postition and lift him up to stand up. This song was going through my mind yesterday and today BIG TIME. Am I a good son? Or am I and ok son? Or am I a not so good son. I am trying to spend time with them as much as I can, but at times it seems so difficult to go 1 and 1/2 hours down there and then drive back. My parents HATE the Dallas traffic; they only been to my house once. .......... Thank you for hearing my thoughts out. Hope everyone has a great and good weekend............ Hugs Ray

You are a very good son! No doubt about that! Love and treasure your parents. My dad died when I was just ten years old, but my mother lived to be 90. I never really got to know my father as he had been very ill since I was five years old. My mother was very strict with me, but seemed to understand that I was "different" and accepted it. When I told her that I was gay she accepted that too. Just felt like sharing that with you, my friend.

Do your parents know that you love them? It seems like they do. If so, then you are a good son.

Hmmm... weird. Okay, so I have to be 'that guy', sorry - This song is not Cat Stevens. It's Harry Chapin, another great singer/songwriter in the tradition of Cat Stevens. Cat Stevens has a great tearjerker of a song called 'Father and Son' and that will have you bawling your eyes out, as well. Thanks for posting. - Uptonking from Wonderland Burlesque

Ray you are a fantastic son! Your mom and dad know that and love you very much. I try everyday to be the Dad Mine was. Dad passed 6 years ago at 93 and I was and am so proud to have had him as my dad. I stop and talk to him often and I know he is with me every day. God bless you buddy.

A sign of a good son is thinking of his parent. I say you are.
