To Damn Cold

I really don't know how you guys/Men do it up there in the North. I woke up to 10 degrees. Sadie Mea msses her walks, but to damn cold outside.

It's been 15 years since air this cold has impacted North Texans.

Although the heavy snow and sleet have pushed well away from North Texas, this strong blast of arctic air continues to build clouds and flurries that will linger throughout the day and into the evening hours. Blustery conditions continue across all of North Texas with northwest winds gusting 25-35 mph

Temperatures are hovering in the mid to upper teens from the metro area westward and along the Red River while the mercury holds in the low to mid 20s to the southeast. Wind chill factors are ranging in the low single digits with some sub-zero wind chills.

With a cold blast that comes around every decade or so, it's no surprise several types of warnings and advisories are in effect.

A Wind Advisory continues until 6 PM while a Wind Chill Advisory extends through 6 AM Wednesday. Overnight temps will dip to 5-10 degrees with wind chills pushing -10 to -15 degrees.

Funny to talk about global warming when everybody's getting colder. Of course, up here, it's just part of life. Had a phone call from a guy in Fort McMurray yesterday, was minus 40 Celsius up there.

Its very jolly cold up north!! I say the photos of the snow and was damn glad I wasn't there!

I know us Brits moan about our weather, but it's no where near extreme as you American's have it!

Cool blog.

Jace in Dallas here, it's almost to cold to masturbate, but the pics help. Thanks and try to stay warm.

I heard it in the news over here, Ray! Well, all I can say is: Talk about climate change!!! Terrible, but we're now paying the price for all the years of abusing the nature that surrounds us.

It,s been below minus 20 C at nightime here for quite a while, add the wind and it's a killer. I actually though my hand were hoing to fall off the morning when I was walking the dog. (Canadian dogs have to be walked no matter what the weather!" ;-)
But did I tell you that in 3 weeks, I'll be in Miami and Key West! YAY!

A quarter-inch of ice coated everything here in eastern Pennsylvania this morning, and I was without power for six hours, but it's not as cold here as it is in Dallas, believe it or not! I even hear that DFW was closed on Tuesday--first time since 9/11/2001! I'm going to retire to the Southwest so that I only have to put up with the occasionally!

Please send me some cool air! Sydney is sweltering in one of the longest "heat waves" in many years. Nights are hot and humid, days are hotter and more humid. Where I'm living it reached 33 degrees Celsius yesterday, while the outer suburbs reached 43C!!! It is already 27C here at present, 8.00a.m., with 45C for other areas. A huge tropical cyclone hit northern Queensland overnight. Damage not known yet!

You wondered how guys up north handle it? I don't know about the others, but as a transplanted southerner, my mantra is "Only 4 weeks of AC... Only 4 weeks of AC..."
